Will Smith feared his livelihood quite a while before his now-famous Oscars slap. The 53-year-old performer plunked down for a gathering with David Letterman on Netflix’s My Next Visitor Needs No Presentation, and worried about losing his calling and fortune while staggering on ayahuasca, a psychoactive local beverage with hallucinogenic properties.

During the episode, which was shot quite a while before Smith slapped Chris Rock on the Oscars stage for making fun of his life partner, Jada Pinkett Smith’s, hair, Smith yielded he was from the outset “frightened” to drink ayahuasca, yet finally “finished up it was something that I expected to endeavor.”

Of the effects of the drink, Smith depicted, “You’re not fantasizing. It looks like the two insights that are 100 percent present. So you understand you’re here. You’re sitting in the room. You don’t lose sight. Detest superimposed on this reality. It’s totally autonomous.”

Following finishing the refreshment, Smith said he had “the individual most appalling mental experience of for seemingly until the end of time.”

“I’m drinking, I’m remaining there, and a short time later, all of the unforeseen, it looks like I start seeing all of my money taking off, and my house is taking off, and my job is vanishing. I’m like, ‘Ugh!'” Smith evaluated. “Besides, I’m endeavoring to get for my money and my calling.

My whole life is getting demolished. My fear. I’m in there and I’m expecting to spew whatnot. I hear a voice saying, ‘This is what the f**k it is. This is what the f**k life is.’ I’m [panting], going, ‘Goodness, s**t!'”

The vision of sorts took a turn when he heard his young lady, 21-year-old Willow, hollering, “Daddy, help me! Daddy! Why you could help me?”

“I’m as, ‘I don’t see you, kid.’ The shaman is like, ‘Loosen up, loosen up, loosen up.’ And she tells me, ‘Sit up,'” Smith recalled. “Then, continuously I quit regularly considering my money, I just had to get to Willow.”

As Smith had the choice to calm himself down, he said, “I quit regularly pondering my home. I quit routinely considering my occupation. I arrive where I settled down, and the voice is right now at 100 percent, I really hear Willow yelling, my money is at this point taking off, yet I’m [taking significant breaths] and I’m totally peaceful, notwithstanding the way that there’s perdition happening to me.”

Right when his journey got done, Smith said it left him with a marked affirmation.

“I comprehended that whatever happens in my life, I can manage it. I can manage any singular I lose. I can manage whatever ends up being awful in my life. I can manage anything in my marriage.

I can manage anything that this life offers of real value for me,” he said. “That is significant for the psychological planning that happens in ayahuasca. Regardless of anything else, by far most of the s**t you worry about never happens. By far most of your irritation and your horror is all self-delivered. It’s not veritable.”

After his Oscars slap, Smith won his most noteworthy Oscar for his portrayal of Richard Williams in Ruler Richard. He was sorry to the Foundation and his colleagues in his affirmation talk and later put out an announcement of disappointment to Shake clearly.

The Foundation continued to preclude Smith from going to any events, eye to eye or in every way that really matters, for the accompanying 10 years, a decision Smith told ET, he does “recognize and respect.”
