This raises the question of whether or not there is a faster mouse elsewhere in the world, but Speedy was fast enough to race the Road Runner to a tie in the 1965 short “The Wild Chase.” Speedy will be voiced by comedian Gabriel Iglesias but does not have a speaking part in the Space Jam 2 trailer.

While critically panned, the quirky comedy proved popular with kids and Looney Tunes fans and is considered a cult classic today. It remains to be seen if Space Jam 2 can recapture the magic of the original, but Warner Bros. isn’t relying exclusively on the same formula as before.
